My Card Folio Privacy Policy

My Card Folio collects nothing about you.

There is no server. Your cards, photos, and recognition results live in your own iCloud account. The developer cannot access them, and nothing is sent to us or to any third party.

What we collect

Nothing.

This app does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on developer or third-party servers, because there are no servers.

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no third-party SDKs.

Where your card data lives

In your own iCloud Drive, inside the container tied to your Apple Account.

The developer has no ability to read your iCloud contents

If you are not signed in to iCloud, data stays on that device only. The app states this clearly on screen rather than failing silently.

How card recognition works

Text recognition runs entirely on your device, offline, using Apple's built-in Vision framework. Card images never leave your phone.

If your device supports Apple Intelligence, the app can use the on-device language model to help classify fields — but only when you explicitly tap to request it. That computation is also on-device; card contents are not sent to any cloud service. This feature is optional, and nothing else depends on it.

Camera and photo access

Camera: used only when you actively photograph a card. Images go straight into the recognition and compression pipeline; nothing is uploaded.
Photo library: reads only the images you explicitly select for import.

Neither is accessed in the background, and nothing you did not select is read.

Original photos are not kept

After cropping, straightening, and compression, the original image is discarded. It is never written to iCloud or local storage. Only the compressed version (roughly 200 KB) is saved.

Purchases

The full version is a one-time purchase handled by Apple's App Store. The developer never receives or stores your payment information. Entitlement is verified through Apple-provided receipts, a process that requires none of your personal data.

There is no subscription and no auto-renewal.

Data sharing

Not applicable. We have no data to share.

Data deletion

Deleting a card in the app deletes the corresponding iCloud files. You may also delete the folders directly in the Files app. Because the developer holds none of your data, there is no deletion request to submit to us.

Children's privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from users of any age.

Changes to this policy

Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date above. Because the app is architecturally incapable of collecting data, no substantive changes are anticipated.
